The Knoxville Softball Squad won its first game of the season in a 2-1 victory over Lynnville-Sully at the Oskaloosa Invitational yesterday. The Panthers got good plate production from eighth grader Shaye Nichols as she bashed her first career home run. Cheyenne Jones got the other R-B-I. Emily Wallace earned the win going the distance scattering seven hits on one run and two strikeouts. In game two, the Panthers fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg 6-1. Wallace was tagged for six runs on 12 hits. Marissa Lenger went 1/3 with a double, Taylor Carter also went 1/3. Knoxville is now 1-4 on the season and will host Oskaloosa on Wednesday.
