Snapping their seven-game losing streak to begin the season with a doubleheader sweep over crosstown rival, Pella Christian, the Pella baseball squad tallied another win, this time over a tough PCM team, 9 – 5 on Tuesday. Pella scored seven runs in the third inning, capped off by a three-run round-tripper off the bat of Matt Nieuwsma, who was 3-for-3 in the game with 4 RBI’s. Austin Titman earned the win in relief, going four-and-two-thirds innings allowing just two hits, walking nobody, and tallying six strikeouts. PCM did answer back with four in their half of the third, but each team matched zeroes the rest of the way. Clay Cooper and Tray Lindsay each had two hits, and Troy Vittetoe swiped two bases for the Mustangs. PCM falls to 6 – 6 and Pella is now 3 – 7.
