The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved moving forward with establishing an IT Department and Director during a special session this week. The decision is the result of a recent information technology assessment undertaken by the County. Supervisor Mark Raymie explains that such a move means a more streamlined process; currently, many departments budget their own IT needs. Raymie says it means could the county become more efficient in their usage of server space. Supervisor Craig Agan adds that it may mean some short-term costs, but they feel the benefits will save the county money long-term.
