PCM baseball and softball each delivered wins last night over Colfax-Mingo. Mustangs’ baseball won 10 – 3, thanks to eleven hits from the offense and a dynamite pitching performance from Alex DeWitte. Nate VandeWall went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs driven in; DeWitte and Clay Cooper each had a multi-hit game as well. DeWitte allowed three runs, only one earned, and struck out 13 batters to win his third game of the year on the mound. There was a little more drama on the softball field, as it took a walk-off homer from Abbi Gilson to propel her team to a dramatic 3 – 1 victory over the Tiger-Hawks. Gilson and Shelby Palm each were 2-for-4 at the plate, and Payge Edwards and Kayla Jennings were 2-for-3. Edwards also added ten strikeouts on the mound for the lady Mustangs, who are now 15 – 12 on the season, while the boys improve to 13 – 10. PCM baseball plays Carlisle at home tonight, and the girls play a make-up game with Roland-Story.
