PCM’s baseball team played another doubleheader on Thursday night, this time with Nevada, and the two Heart of Iowa Conference schools split in their pair of games. The teams first finished a suspended game from June 15th, and PCM ended on top, 3 – 2. The Mustangs scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh to gain the victory. Austin Brown won his second game of the season by pitching the complete game and allowing only two runs and walking nobody. Things did not go the Mustangs’ way in game two, as the Cubs pounded PCM for 15 hits in a 10 – 3 final. The score was 3 – 2 going into the fifth inning, but some key errors by PCM cost them when Nevada started capitalizing and finding gaps to drive in seven runs in the final three frames. Zach Uhlenhopp went 2-for-2 with two RBI’s to lead the charge offensively for PCM, who are now 12 – 8. They play at South Hamilton later tonight.
