A special school election will be held in Prairie City, and Monroe tonight. The ballot has three items up for consideration. First, a decision to adopt or not a revenue purpose statement for monies collected through the Penny Sales and Services Tax for Schools. Also, the district 5 school board vacancy is being contested by Jill Witt and Twyla Flickinger, while the district 7 seat is being sought by Zachary Pendroy and Steve Nearmyer. Voting will take place at the Prairie City Community Building located at 503 South State St or Monroe City Hall at 206 West Sherman. Polls are open from 7am to 8pm.
