It was a blowout on the baseball field for Pleasantville and a squeaker didn’t go the way of the Trojans on the softball diamond in Thursday night’s showdown with Wayne. Pleasantville baseball racked up the hits in a 12 – 2 win in five innings over the Falcons. Josh Luna received the win on the pitcher’s mound, striking out eight, and he and Patrick Sheehey each clobbered home runs for their team. Trojans softball played extras with Wayne, but fell in eight, 4 – 3. Bailey Oliva had ten strikeouts, while Alli Friday and Hannah Gordon each had a hit and an RBI in crucial spots in the sixth to tie the game. Pleasantville baseball improves to 10 – 7 and the softball team falls to 3 – 17 – 1. The Trojans’ ball clubs will each host a game against Bedford this evening.
