To call this a hot start perhaps may be an understatement, as the Twin Cedars’ baseball team won a pair of game in the Wayne tournament on Saturday. The Sabers started out with a 13 – 1 win over Moravia. Collin Still got the win on the mound in that first game, allowing just one run and one hit. Corey Harrell went 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run and three RBI’s. Hunter Embray also smacked a long ball in that game. The Sabers didn’t have any problems in the championship game against Wayne in the nightcap, winning 15 – 0 in three innings. Coy Moore struck out four on the mound for Twin Cedars, while his offense gave him plenty of run support behind him. Embray and Harrell each went yard again against Wayne, as did Eric Clark, with the trio combining to go 4-for-8 with three homers and nine RBI’s. Twin Cedars sits at 8 – 0 on the season, and maybe the more impressive stat is that they have yet to commit an error defensively at this point in the season. The Sabers will next play at Moulton-Udell on Tuesday.
