Crooked numbers were had all over the scoreboard last night, as Twin Cedars, to put it lightly, had no problem handling Mormon-Trail on both the baseball and softball diamonds. Sabers’ baseball tallied 39 total runs in their doubleheader while keeping the goose egg on the visitor’s side of the scoreboard. Twin Cedars won game one, 19 – 0. Coy Moore was 3-for-4 with four RBI’s, and Corey Harrell hit a home run and drove in three. The Sabers as a whole had 17 hits and committed zero errors defensively. Brent Parker earned the win, allowing one hit in four innings of work, with six strikeouts and two walks. Game two was a 20 – 0 score in favor of Twin Cedars. Eric Clark threw five innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts en route to the win. Moore, Parker and Harrell drove in two runs apiece and combined to go 7-for-8 at the plate. Eric Clark also added three hits, including a home run and six RBI’s for the Sabers. Twin Cedars’ girls also had great success in their softball contests, winning game one 19 – 0, and followed that up with a 14 – 2 victory. Sabers’ baseball is now 16 – 1, the girls are 14 – 6, and the boys will host Eddyville-Blakesburg in a tough bout tonight, while the girls welcome Pella Christian into town, in a game to be heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
