The overall moisture conditions in Iowa are continuing to improve, and are approaching normal. Data released by the Department of Natural Resources in the Water Summary Update, lists Marion County as no longer experiencing drought conditions. Shallow groundwater is also at a normal level in Marion County. Streamflow is normal on the eastern half of the county, and above normal on the western side. Precipitation for May 28th through June 11th officially registered as 50-70% of what is considered normal, which is 2.3 inches for that time frame.
