The Marion County Fair is the busiest time of year for many 4-Hers and their families. Marion County Extension Youth Coordinator Mindy Kephart says there are shows and activities each day that the public is invited to watch.
Non-livestock exhibits are judged Thursday and are on display the rest of the week at Dyer-Hudson Hall. Livestock is on display from Friday-through-Wednesday at the barns. Pets and dogs are judged on Friday. On Saturday, it’s the cat show, bucket calf show, and goat show. Sunday brings the horse show in the morning. Monday’s highlight is the sheep show, while the beef and rabbit shows are on Tuesday. Things wind down on Wednesday morning with the swine show. The Parade of Champions is Wednesday night, and the auction is Thursday morning. The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from the fair all week.
