A Knoxville woman was arrested Wednesday on a gun charge. 40-year-old Heidi Bingham was allegedly swaying on the road in her vehicle on Highway 14 and was eventually pulled over on the 1600 block of G28. When an officer approached her car, he noticed Bingham had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He also observed live ammunition near Bingham; she then allegedly admitted to having a shotgun in her trunk. Bingham has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, a class D felony. She was also charged with a misdemeanor drug violation after the officer noticed 21 generic Adderall pills in the vehicle. Court records indicate that Bingham did fail field sobriety tests on scene.
