The Knoxville Softball Squad will finish out its home portion of the 2013 season with a double header against Pella Christian. The Panthers earlier this week beat the Eagles 15-3, in a game that included a grand slam by Panther Pitcher Emily Wallace. Coach Steph Christner says the girls are scoring runs but cannot give those runs back when they get on defense. She says Wallace gets stronger the longer she goes in a game. The Panthers have raised their batting average to 236 on the season. Three players are now above the 300 mark in batting average, Jory Wallace, Taylor Carter and Cheyenne Jones, with Rikki Hall knocking on the door at 290. Pella Christian has a three-pronged pitching effort being led by Shannon Fynaardt with a 2.86 E-R-A. Taylor Hartson and Nicole Kelderman are also scheduled to be in the circle for the Eagles. You can hear the second game of the twin bill on AM 1320 KNIA and streamed live at kniakrls.com at around 7:30
