Ho-hum, another day, another pair of wins for Twin Cedars’ baseball and softball on Wednesday, as they each took down Murray in Bluegrass Conference action. The softball team prevailed 6 – 5 in a marathon ten-inning affair. Brittney Roby pitched all ten innings to get the win. Bailey Dunkin scored the winning run thanks to an RBI single from Megan Anderson. The win clinches at least a tie for the Bluegrass Conference title for the Sabers, who play a return game at Murray on Friday. The Twin Cedars’ boys won in a not-as-dramatic 11 – 0 five inning contest. The Sabers pounded Murray early and often, scoring eight runs total in the first two innings. Coy Moore was 3-for-3 with an RBI, Brent Parker, Levi Jones and Eric Clark all were 2-for-3 at the plate to back-up a one-hit shutout from Otis Roby on the mound, who added eight strikeouts to go with it. Sabers’ softball sits with a 23 – 7 record and baseball improves to 28 – 1, and each team plays at Murray on Friday.
