The Pleasantville Softball Squad stood up to Grandview Park Baptist and made the Defenders sweat a little bit in last night’s first round Class 1A Regional game. While Grandview Park Baptist won the game 3-2, the Trojans held the lead for the first three innings when Alli Friday got an R-B-I to give Pleasantville and 1-0 lead. G-P-B would tie it at one in the fourth and score two more runs in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead. Pleasantville added the final tally on a Kaylene Hoyt sacrifice fly. Pleasantville Coach Robert Friday knew the Defenders would be looking past his team. Bailey Oliva went the distance giving up three runs on just five hits, five walks and struck out eight batters. Pleasantville finishes its season at 6-24-1 and will return nearly everyone for next season.
