RAGBRAI vendors met Tuesday to discuss inspection standards and what they can expect later this month during RAGBRAI in Marion County. Joe Beal, with the Department of Inspections and Appeals, explains there are three main things inspectors will be looking at – food temperatures, log sheets of workers and volunteers, and having sanitizers on-site. He adds to make sure hair is restrained and reminded people that food must be made on-site.
Those who haven’t applied for a license yet can find the application on the Department of Inspection and Appeals website. Non-profits that are serving on their own property do not need to apply for a license, but Beal recommends they follow the same standards. Next week, we’ll talk with Cory Frank at Marion County Public Health during Let’s Talk Knoxville about many of these same issues.
