Marion County Special Olympics wrapped up their season at the State Summer Games at Iowa State University. The bocce ball team of Ben Heywood, Marissa Scheltzbaum, and Michelle Turnage of Pleasantville, Jacob Hindman of Knoxville, and Haley Stevens of PCM were bronze medal winners. Hindman earned two gold medals in swimming events, Turnage earned a silver in the 50m dash and bronze in the softball throw, and Tegan Ripperger of Pleasantville earned a gold in the softball throw.
