The Twin Cedars – Melcher-Dallas rivalry this season goes to the Sabers on the baseball diamond at least, as they were able to win 16 – 2 in five innings last night. The Sabers used a nine-run second inning to coast the rest of the way after each team put up two runs in the first. Twin Cedars out-hit Melcher-Dallas 12 – 4. Coy Moore and Corey Harrell each had three hits, and Brent Parker was 2-for-2 at the plate. Drew Carlson was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits and striking out six. The win propels Twin Cedars to 27 – 1, while the loss drops the Saints to 6 – 11. Melcher-Dallas plays at Seymour tonight and Twin Cedars hosts Murray on Wednesday.
