Returning for his senior year, Pella Christian quarterback Coltin Collins is poised to have a great season. Last year, the Eagles’ QB threw for 1,068 yards and 15 touchdowns, with a completion percentage of 46.5%. Coach Rich Kacmarynski is happy with the progress that Collins has made as far as his accuracy is concerned, and adds that Collins could be an All-State quarterback this season. Should the unthinkable happen and Collins goes down, the Eagles don’t really have a solid back-up to take his place. That’s where the youth comes in, according to Kacmarysnki. With no quarterback in the sophomore or junior classes, the coach’s son, David, would be next in line. The senior Kacmarynski says his son has been doing a good job of leading the JV team and would be ready to step in if necessary. Pella Christian opens the season August 30 at home versus Lynnville-Sully.
