As Knoxville’s regular Nationals guests return to the community, they may notice several differences from last year. City Manager Harold Stewart says that there has been a lot of activity in the commercial sector recently. McDonald’s is being reconstructed, and a site plan has been approved for a reconstructed Casey’s on the east side. The Council also approved site plans for a crematorium and another addition to Spaun and Rose last week. Stewart tells KNIA/KRLS News that industrial growth has occurred over the past year with additions to Weiler. He adds that they’ve also conducted studies regarding future housing developments. Stewart says it’s an exciting time to be in Knoxville and that they’re working hard in commercial and industrial growth.
