Before becoming a star on the international stage for the USA Eagles rugby team, Paul Emerick was a multi-sport athlete for Pella. He played football, and the one sport Emerick fancied the most was his time as a member of the Little Dutch wrestling squad. The late Bill Van Horn was the coach then, and Emerick says he kept him in line early in his career at Pella. Paul Emerick announced his retirement last week from playing the sport of rugby, but says he would like to try his hand at coaching sometime down the road.
