Saying his team was quick may have been an understatement after the show Coach Jay McKinstrey’s Pella High football team put on last night in a 38 – 13 win over Marshalltown. Bryce Bortscheller got the scoring started for Pella with a 77-yard touchdown reception, followed by a pick six from Quinton Murphy that set the tone early for the Little Dutch. Pella would get the running clock going early on the Bobcats halfway through the third quarter before putting in their reserves to take over the rest of the game. Coach McKinstrey said after the game that their team’s speed can be found beyond the offensive side of the ball. Pella’s win gives them a 1 – 0 record to begin the year, and they’ll make the long trip to Washington for week number two this Friday.
