Coach Eric Karr of the PCM cross country team is steering the Mustangs in the right direction. The program at PCM has been on the rise over the past few years, and Coach Karr says this year they are experiencing their greatest turnout in quite some time. Around thirty kids are expected to be a part of Mustangs’ cross country in 2013, which is up from 17 in 2012, and seven back in 2011. Karr says right now it’s all about getting the numbers and perhaps the hype built up for the program. Coach Karr admits that running isn’t always everybody’s favorite sport, so he’s trying to get kids excited about cross country. He adds that PCM isn’t too far away from being a state team; he thinks the Mustangs can get there and it can start to be a tradition. Karr and his Mustangs will open up their season with a meet at Central College on September 7.
