Pella’s cross country team, both on the boys’ and girls’ sides, departed with a lot of talent with the outgoing seniors in 2012. The boys finished runners-up at the state level in Class 3A and the girls came in seventh. If you know anything about Pella cross country, it’s that they have droves of talented athletes and runners ready to step up. This season, Coach Doug Cutler says that his returners will be taking a step into the limelight instead of being in the shadows of last year’s seniors, and that they need to put the past behind them. The Little and Lady Dutch cross country teams will begin practice this Monday, with their first meet on August 31 at Cedar Rapids Prairie.
