More than 1500 MidAmerican customers are without power in Marion County after a power pole went down. The guy-wire became unattached to the pole at around 7:50am in front of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. MidAmerican officials are on-scene and attending to the situation. The outage has caused several stoplights in Knoxville to malfunction. The Knoxville Police Department is helping direct traffic at some of those intersections. They’re also at the scene of the incident, as is the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. There’s no report as to what caused the power pole to fall at this time. Please proceed around the scene with caution.
