The temperature was hot and so was the offense for both Melcher-Dallas’ and Twin Cedars’ football teams last night, as each school came away with season-opening victories. The Saints toppled Colo-Nesco 34 – 26. Coach Mike Horstman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Chase Wetterling had a great game; scoring a touchdown on the ground and two through the air. Twin Cedars prevailed over Essex-South Page, 48 – 14. Both eight-man teams are 1 – 0 to begin the season, and next week, one of them for sure will be 2 – 0, as the Saints and Sabers renew their rivalry on the gridiron at Melcher-Dallas on Friday.
