Central College dominated the line of scrimmage and cruised to a 31-6 homecoming victory over Albion of Michigan in the rain Saturday afternoon. The Dutch racked up 279 yards of rushing offense, while limiting the Britons to just 60 yards on the ground. Josh Osborn tallied a career high 192 yards on 31 carries for the Dutch, added two catches for 16 yards, and scored three total touchdowns, including a 12-yard run late in the third quarter that made it 21-6 Central. While Central staggered to a 14-6 halftime lead, they outscored the Britons 17-0 in the second half while forcing three turnovers and blocking a punt. Central finishes non-conference action with a 2-1 record, and they’ll open Iowa Conference play this Saturday in Dubuque against the Spartans. You can hear Dutch Coach Jeff McMartin’s reaction to Saturday’s victory, as well as a preview of the game against Dubuque when he joins us live at Applebee’s for the Central College Radio Coaches Corner Monday night at 7:00.
