To say it wasn’t even close may be an understatement. Central’s men’s and women’s soccer teams drudged Iowa Wesleyan in Saturday action by a combined score of 24 – 1. The Dutch women conquered 15 – 0 in their contest. Eight different players scored a goal for Central; led by Julie Wunder who had a hat trick plus one, and Alayna Bailey, Kayla Sunvold and Jordan Plante all netted two apiece. Iowa Wesleyan could only get two shots off, none of them on goal, against the stingy Dutch defense. Over on the men’s side, they walloped their opponents 9 – 1. The Dutch men improve to 5 – 3 overall and the women stand at 6 – 2. Both clubs have one final warm-up game before their Iowa Conference opener next weekend; the men host North Central Illinois on Tuesday and the women play Cornell at home on Thursday.
