In a game that has been circled on many fans’ and players’ calendars alike, both Pella and Grinnell take to the football field tonight in a huge non-district contest. Pella is fresh off a thrilling 14 – 7 victory over Washington, which saw one of their quarterbacks, Trevor Argo, go down with an injury. Sophomore Noah Clayberg stepped up in a huge way, scoring both of Pella’s touchdowns late in the game. Coach Jay McKinstrey says that with Clayberg having big roles now on both offense and defense, he’s going to take some of the responsibility out of his young quarterback’s hands and just let him go out there and do his thing. Meanwhile, the Tigers were involved in a shootout with Oskaloosa, winning 55 – 46. They bring back their signal-caller, Eli Dunne, who has been very good again so far this year. Tonight’s final non-district contest for Pella in 2013 will be live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Jamie Brockman and Dave Van Gorp on the play-by-play. Pregame starts immediately after the KNIA/KRLS Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show at around seven, and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
