Racing at Johnston last night, Pella Christian already showed improvement from their first meet of the year at Central on Saturday. Coach Jocelyn Meinders tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the 20-degree difference certainly played a role in the faster times her teams put up yesterday. The Eagles’ girls came in sixth place overall, and were led by Marina Shannon’s 22nd place time of 19:12. Jacob Lensing led the Eagles’ boys to a fourth place team finish with his eighth place time of 17:56. Pella Christian’s runners knocked anywhere from 15 seconds to over seven minutes off their finishing time from Saturday. Pella Christian next races at Oskaloosa on Tuesday.
