Knoxville will play another neighbor tonight that resides along Highway 14 as the Panthers travel to Newton. Both the Panthers and Cardinals are coming off close loses, Knoxville fell to P-C-M last week by eight points, and Newton fell in overtime to Norwalk by six. The Knoxville coaching staff knows what the Cardinals will do and that is run the ball. Head Coach Troy Rider hopes to come out with an aggressive game plan himself, and try to hit some big plays early. The key could come down to which team stops the run first. Knoxville gave up 221 yards on the ground to P-C-M while Newton allowed 153 yards rushing to Norwalk. Rider says Newton likes to get to the edges which will challenge the cornerbacks. You can hear the play-by-play with Derek Cardwell and Mike Cunningham on AM 1320 KNIA and streamed live at kniakrls.com starting at seven following the Football Friday Nights Radio Preview Show with kick off at 7:30.
