It was another quick night on the volleyball courts for the No. 15 ranked Pella High girls, sweeping Grinnell in straight sets on Tuesday. After being up 17 – 4 early on the Tigers, the Lady Dutch won game one 25 – 15. The second game was neck-and-neck; Grinnell led 18 – 16 before Pella went on a 7 – 1 run to win the game 25 – 23 and finish the sweep 25 – 18 in game three. Coach Catie Brand says that her girls tenacity is what helped them prevail in that close second set. The Lady Dutch are 11 – 10 overall and 3 – 0 in conference play; in fact, they haven’t lost a single set in league play to this point. It’s another idle weekend for Pella, and they will get back to action again on Tuesday when they make the short trip to face Pella Christian.
