It was a very successful day on the volleyball courts for Pella on Saturday, winning four matches out of six at the Bondurant-Farrar invitational. Coach Catie Brand tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that her girls looked very sharp and fought hard against each opponent. The Lady Dutch started by sweeping Boone in consecutive sets, 21 – 13, 21 – 18. Pella then lost in three sets to the host Bluejays, 15 – 21, 21 – 13, and 15 – 12. They swept Williamsburg, Davis County and West Marshall but fell to West Des Moines Valley. The Lady Dutch are off to a quick 5 – 2 start to the season, and they’ll host a varsity quad match-up against ADM, Gilbert and Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday.
