Approximately 450 people attended the open house at the new Knoxville Performing Arts Center yesterday. After the High School Band performed, several speakers, including Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack, thanked the school staff and community members who helped make the Performing Arts Center a reality.

The combined chorus of the Knoxville Middle School and Knoxville High School closed with “Seasons of Love,” from the musical “Rent.”

The historic day was capped by a concert by Doreen’s Jazz New Orleans. The next professional performance at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center will be Simon Estes, December first.
