Pleasantville’s volleyball girls looked strong in their trip to Coon Rapids Saturday, finishing third out of eight teams in tournament action. Coach Amy Updegraff tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that her Trojans lost to Adair-Casey in pool play to finish second then fell to Coon Rapids, 9 – 21 and 5 – 21 in the semi-finals. Pleasantville followed that up with a win over Ankeny Christian Academy in the consolation game to secure third place. Paton Churdan and Storm Lake – St. Mary’s were also defeated by the Trojans, who improve to 4 – 3 on the year. Pleasantville heads to Martensdale – St. Mary’s for a Pride of Iowa Conference game this Tuesday.
