Seeing improvement from their play last week, the Pleasantville volleyball team earned their first win in 2013 and their first Pride of Iowa Conference victory, too, defeating East Union yesterday in four games, 25 – 21, 23 – 25, 25 – 23 and 25 – 6. Coach Amy Updegraff tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that her girls were able to make adjustments from their season opener a week ago and looked stronger in their match last night. Updegraff also said she feels like her team will be tough in conference play after seeing how they performed. The Trojans improve to 1 – 1, and they’ll get their first taste of tournament action this Saturday when they head to Coon Rapids.
