Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont spoiled Pella Christian’s home volleyball debut in 2013 in four games, 20 – 25, 17 – 25, 25 – 21 and 11 – 25. The injury bug has not been kind to the Eagles, as they have been without four of their regular starters for the past few days. In the end, Coach Nikkel said that the unforced errors were what bit her team. Nikkel adds the girls that have been forced to step up to fill in those injured players’ spots have been quickly learning despite being “thrown into the fire.” The Eagles are 2 – 5 and are off for a week before they play their first Little Hawkeye Conference match with Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.
