Sigourney-Keota’s single wing offense was too overpowering for Pella Christian football last night in the Cobras’ 40 – 21 win in non-district play. Sigourney-Keota scored on just about every drive they had over the course of the game; only having to punt once and turning the ball over on downs just a few times. The Cobras racked up 329 yards on the ground, with their four top backs rushing for at least 50 yards apiece. Coach Darryl DeRuiter said after the game that despite their limited amount of passing plays last night, their offensive plan each week will stay the same. Mason Howerzyl had 98 yards on the ground with a touchdown late and Dillon Branderhorst ran for 63 yards and two touchdowns to highlight the offense for the Eagles, who drop to 3 – 2 overall. Pella Christian comes back home to kick-off four straight weeks of district play next week when they host Ogden.
