The Pleasantville football team fell to Montezuma 42-10 on Friday night to fall to 1 – 2 on the year. The Braves jumped out to a 7-0 lead to end the first quarter. Montezuma exploded for 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28 point lead into the locker room. The Braves would go on to take a 42-0 lead late in the fourth quarter before Pleasantville finally put some points on the scoreboard. The Trojans’ defense was able to hold the powerful Braves’ offense to just 234 yards on the night. After the game, head coach Gabe Bakker talked about his team’s effort against the number six team in the state. Pleasantville will travel to Packwood next week to take on the Pekin Panthers.
