Either Pleasantville’s or Van Meter’s season will come to an end this evening when the Bulldogs host the Trojans in the first round of the Class 2A Regional Volleyball Tournament. The two schools played each other very close in their meet-up last Saturday in the Martensdale-St. Mary’s tournament; Pleasantville lost game one 16 – 21, but won the next two, 23 – 21 and 15 – 10. In that match, the stats were fairly even, with edges given to the Trojans in kill efficiency and service aces. However, the Trojans’ serving was a tad more erratic, only getting 81% of their serves across as opposed to 90% for the Bulldogs. Pleasantville has set a school record for wins in a season this year with 15, and their seniors would like more. The winner of tonight’s match goes on to play B-G-M next Tuesday. Tonight’s playoff contest is scheduled to begin at seven.
