The Central men’s cross country team continued their methodical march up the rankings ladder, again moving up one rung to ninth place in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll. Central’s men were third out of 30 teams at the Jim Drews Invitational in Wisconsin this past Saturday. Austin O’Brien was second overall individually on the course. Other Iowa Conference schools were mixed; Luther had the biggest jump of ten spots to 24th, Loras fell one rung to 28th and Wartburg fell out of the poll. Central will host the Iowa Conference championships on November 2 at noon, hoping to repeat after winning their first ever league title last year.
