The Central women’s soccer team tied another school record and the men fell against Luther on Saturday. The Dutch women won 2 – 1 over the Norse; Britt Hinton scored first for Central and Alayna Bailey had the go-ahead and game winner late in the second half. The win gives Central their 12th of the season, which ties a school a record, and they improve to 3 – 2 – 1 in the Iowa Conference. Coach Mike Kobylinski set a record himself at Central with the win. In less than three full seasons, Kobylinski has recorded 34 wins, beating the old mark set from ’04 – ’07 by Rick Burns. The Dutch men didn’t have the same success, as they were shutout 1 – 0 by the Norse. Central’s men fall to 9 – 7 – 1 overall and 2 – 4 in league play. Both squads conclude their regular seasons with a home conference match against Loras on Tuesday.
