The Central College men’s cross country team leaped from 31st to 11th in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll. The Dutch started the season ranked seventh, but fell to as low as 32nd while dealing with some injuries at a few meets. They have since rebounded thanks to a third place finish out of 26 teams in the Eau Claire Blugold Invitational last Friday. Central is the highest ranked Iowa Conference team in the poll; Wartburg is the closest at 20th, Loras is 25th and Luther comes in at 33rd. Central also find themselves ranked second in the Central Region only to St. Olaf of Minnesota. The Dutch will get back to action a week from Saturday at the Jim Drews Invitational in West Salem, Wisconsin.
