Falling in back-to-back contests by the same final score (14 – 13), the Pella Christian football team hosts Colfax-Mingo tonight, hoping to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Colfax-Mingo’s main source of offense this season has been their passing; quarterback Jared Myers has thrown for nearly 1,200 yards and ten touchdowns, but has been picked off 11 times and did not play last week. With the Tiger-Hawks’ question mark at the quarterback position, Coach Rich Kacmarynski says they will have to adjust their defense depending on who gets the start under center. Senior Juan Gonzales was the main signal-caller against Des Moines Christian last Friday. An Eagles’ win and a Des Moines Christian loss to Central Decatur would put the three teams into a tie for the fourth playoff spot in Class 1A District 7. You can hear tonight’s game streamed live on KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser and Larry Hessing on the call. Pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off at seven. There will also be a delayed broadcast of the contest on 92.1 KRLS immediately following Marcus Johnson and the KNIA/KRLS Football Friday Night Radio Scoreboard Show.
