A spirited and gritty Knoxville Volleyball Squad came from behind to beat Carlisle last night in the first round of the class four-A Regional three sets to one. The Panthers dropped the first set 25-19, but swept the next three 25-17, 28-26, and 25-17. The girls had to contend with a noisy gym, but Coach Liz Sanders said that may have actually fueled her team. She added the girls played well and were aggressive…especially Ashley Hawkshead. Hawkshead tallied 14 kills, while Cheyenne Jones led in that department with 17, she also had 13 digs. Erica Fee led with 19 digs and Meredith Cunningham dealt out 39 assists. Knoxville improves to 20-19 and will face Pella in the Regional semi-final on Thursday.
