PCM and Davis County battled until the final buzzer Friday night in a pivotal match up in Class 2A District 6 that went Davis County’s way, 26 – 21. PCM held a 7-0 lead early, and lined up for a 25 yard field goal to take a two score advantage. Davis County quarterback Justin Utt blocked the kick and took it 75 yards for a touchdown which drained the momentum PCM had going their way. Davis County added two more scores to take a 20-7 advantage into the locker room. With 26 seconds left, and Davis County running out the clock, the PCM defense stripped the ball and gave Logan Gilman and the offense one last chance at glory and a #2 seed in the playoffs. Gilman hit Bruxvoort for 33 yards over the top of the defense, putting PCM in a legitimate scoring situation. Gilman was unable to connect for the final score as two shots to the end zone fell short and Davis County won 26-21. PCM now sits in line for the #4 seed, behind Albia, Bondurant-Farrar, and Davis County. PCM now stands at 4-4, and will finish the regular season at home next week in Monroe against the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays.
