Assistant softball coach and associate athletics director at Central College, Alicia O’Brien was inducted into the Western Connecticut State University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday in Danbury, Connecticut. The Colonials is her alma mater; she was a 1983 graduate and was a team captain for two different sports during her time there. O’Brien also was their head softball coach for 17 years and led the Colonials to the NCAA finals in 2002, including 13 straight seasons of at least 20 wins. This will be O’Brien’s third “Connecticut” Hall of Fame; in 2001, she was inducted into the Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame and in 2008, into the Danbury High School Athletics Hall of Fame.
