Drivers passing through the intersection of West Pleasant and Lincoln in Knoxville today may have noticed activity in the old Kum and Go building, and that the for sale sign is down. City officials tell KNIA and KRLS News that the building will be a location for a Medicap Pharmacy, pending revisions to final plans and city approval by planning and zoning. The City of Knoxville has been working closely with Greg Johansen, with GRX Holdings, owner of the Knoxville Medicap. Johansen says the existing building will be expanded and remodeled, and the apartment building just to the west will be demolished to make room for expansion and parking. The pharmacy will have a drive-thru window, and will have access from both West Pleasant and Lincoln. An April 1 open date is planned. GRX Holdings owns 16 other pharmacies in Iowa, with the closest being in Carlisle and Indianola.
