Running on a warmer than normal early October day, the Knoxville Cross Country Invitational for the second straight year was swept by Pella as the boys and girls took home the first place trophies. The girls won by 20 points over Oskaloosa and had four girls in the top ten led by Kelcey Blommers first place in a time of 16:07. P-C-M was the next local school in seventh led by Rachel Stafford’s 14th showing in 18:11. Pella Christian was eighth as Chloe Dembski in 29th place in a time of 19:37, and Pleasantville was tenth led by Hanna DeJoode in 55th with a time of 23:06. Knoxville and Twin Cedars had incomplete teams, the Panthers were led by Courtney Hughs in 15th with a time of 18:18, and Twin Cedars was led by Kaylee Bruns in 66th with a time of 24:04. On the boys side, Pella easily won by 61 points over Oskaloosa, however 2nd-4th was separated by just four points with Knoxville taking fourth place. The Little Dutch was led by Ben Warner’s runner-up finish in 17:05, while Knoxville was led by Jordan Angove with a time of 18:30. Pella Christian was sixth being led by Jacob Lensing’s tenth place in a time of 18:17, P-C-M finished 12th as Matt Chizek placed 18th in a time of 19:08, Pleasantville was 13th led by Max Johnson in 42nd with a time of 20:30. Twin Cedars had an incomplete team led by Hunter Frost in 87th with a time of 24:55.
