Pleasantville came away with some good playing experience and reached a goal after playing in the Martensdale-St. Mary’s tournament on Saturday. The Trojans toppled the Blue Devils in three sets, 21 – 19, 12 – 21 and 15 – 9. They then were defeated by Murray, 17 – 21 and 11 – 21. Pleasantville also defeated Van Meter and Montezuma and fell to Earlham in three to go 3 – 2 on the day. The Mustangs of Murray beat everyone in attendance except for the Blue Devils. The Trojans’ seniors and their team set a goal of reaching and passing the school record for wins in a season, 12, and they did that with their showing on Saturday to improve to 14 – 10 overall. Pleasantville’s last regular season game is this Thursday at home against Clarke of Osceola.
